Meeting Set for February 9

Our group meets Monday, February 9 at Booms Restaurant, 516 W HWY 46, Wagner, SD. Social, dinner on your own, begins at 5:00pm. Our business meeting begins at 6:00pm and should conclude before 7:00pm.

Notes from our Annual Meeting Sep 8, 2025:

We've nearly achieved our goal of $45k for the matching portion of the feasibility study grant. The study continues. No final release date is set, but SAT members hope a working draft will be available this fall.

Expired positions were reelected. Lucas has one year left on his co-chair position. Those re-elected to 3-year terms include Benz as co-chair, Foley as Secretary and Bechen as Treasurer; all elected without opposition.

Our 2026 Bikes & Brews Ride fundraiser will be held Sat May 23. Patti Nachtigal and Nyla Antonson graciously agreed to organize the ride again this year.

The SD Rail Board, at their Jul 16 meeting cancelled, for cause, the contract with Dakota Southern for managing the NAPA to Tyndall portion. The board voted to entertain bids to sell or otherwise operate the entire line. A sale may complicate our proposal, or the new operators may partner with us for a recreational trail; to be determined.
