Greetings Friends of the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail;

Toole Design - https://tooledesign.com/ - released the “DRAFT Public Involvement Report - First Phase” that analyzes public opinion about the trail proposal generated from Open House Meetings and On-line Surveys. The Study Advisory Team (SAT) reviewed this report with Toole. Dr. Jerome Bentz and Larry Lucas represented our friends group on the SAT.

Please see the attached (pdf) report. While this report is preliminary, it can be and should be shared publicly. Toole intends a Phase II of the study with a second round of Open Houses in October, tbd. Additional edits and more public comments from 'round 2' will be included in the feasibility study.

Top line, 68 percent of respondents expressed overall support for the trail. Of the 296 respondents who reported their zip code within the study corridor, support was 48 percent for to 44 percent against.  However, 80% of landowners who took the survey opposed building a trail.

We, the friends group leadership, will continue public advocacy for the trial through local and statewide news media, and will continue to be present in our communities at events that draw crowds like parades, reunions, and celebrations. Please let us know how our group, the Friends of Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail, can engage your community to promote this project.

Thank You for your generous support of the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail.
